A heritage tourism initiative retracing Theodore Roosevelt's 1909-1910 Smithsonian expedition through Kenya, Uganda and South Sudan.
Website design and build in Webflow: homepage, Trail, Documentary, Agri Hub, News and Contact pages.
The Trail was aiming to turn a little-known chapter of history into a heritage journey that travellers, partners and press could grasp in seconds. I helped by giving that story a clear, cinematic home online.
The Roosevelt Africa Trail brings the 1909-1910 Smithsonian-Roosevelt African Expedition back to life as a heritage trail connecting the United States and Africa. The material is rich: archive photography, a documentary and a route through Kenya, Uganda and South Sudan. I designed the site to lead with that story, so a visitor understands what the Trail is before they reach the detail.
I paired full-bleed safari footage and sepia archive photographs with bold condensed headlines and calm, readable body text, then built it in Webflow. The trail, the agri hub, the documentary and the news each get their own page, so the site works for travellers, partners and press alike, on desktop and mobile.
